The Rarotongan Airport Solar Installation
The job consisited of 3 collection boards out in the field supplying 500A feeders within the main board.
Each feeder was to have modbUS comm's within for monitoring of supply, as well as the main baord to have a modbus comms on the main outgoing supply.
The challenges with this job were in the engineering for the environment. The boards outside where to be literally outisde in the sun, salt spray rain etc. The boards had to be sized to take the heat and the loading to deliver all day every day. A lack of spares availabiltiy also meant minimizing the need for spares by using resetable devices instead of fuses, reducing overall part count where we could.
